Website Caching

Websites hosted on our platform are served through Nginx, a reverse caching proxy for static files (like CSS, JS, images, etc.).  Additionally, a micro cache layer is used to more efficiently serve dynamic content from content management systems such as WordPress.

Cached Content Expiration

Caches are automatically purged every hour, on the hour.  This means there may be a delay between when you update your website and when your live site reflects the changes.  This level of caching ensures individual websites perform optimally and efficiently under high traffic and load, while not affecting other client websites.  If you have a special implementation requiring specific caching rules, please contact us.

Content Management System Exceptions

Special dynamic caching rules are used when a website is being powered by content management systems including WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal.  These rules prevent issues for websites serving personalized content and information.  Most notably, micro caching is disabled for logged-in users.
